A field guide to pricing pages.

The Pricing Atlas is a reference library of the pages where leading SaaS companies turn products into revenue. Every page is captured full-length at desktop width, so you see the whole argument a company makes, from the hero to the FAQ, exactly as a buyer would.

Each capture carries a read of the page by our in-house strategist and a set of annotations pinned to the screenshot. Filled notes mark practices worth borrowing. Outlined notes go under the hood: what a choice reveals about how the company prices.

How does Contentful pricing work?

The value metric is a bundle of allowances. Free includes 10 users, 2 roles, 2 locales, '100K API calls/ month' and '50 GB/ month CDN bandwidth'. Lite, 'For smaller businesses managing a single project.', doubles users to 20, adds a third role and locale, lifts API calls tenfold to '1M API calls/ month' and CDN bandwidth to 100 GB, and adds comments and task management, scheduled publishing and live collaboration. Enterprise opens every dimension: 'Custom number of users, roles & locales', 'Unlimited API calls/ month' and 'Custom amount of CDN bandwidth'. The Space, the container a project lives in, is the third axis: '1 Starter Space included' on Free and Lite, '+ 1 Lite Space available for additional purchase' on Lite, and an 'Unlimited Spaces allowance' on Enterprise. Allowances that count people, languages and traffic fit a CMS whose cost and value both grow with the teams, markets and channels it serves.

What does Contentful's pricing page do well?

  • The purchase is framed as two labeled steps, 'Step 1: Pick a Platform plan' and 'Step 2: Add to your Enterprise plan', which separates the platform choice from the module choice
  • Each Platform card publishes its allowances as numbers: 10 and 20 users, 100K and 1M API calls per month, 50 GB and 100 GB per month of CDN bandwidth
  • The Free plan is '$0 / forever' with 10 users, structured content, developer tools, the editorial experience and a Starter Space, a working product for 'learning and exploring the Contentful Platform'
  • Each card states who it is for in one line, from 'For learning and exploring the Contentful Platform.' to 'For building scaled digital experiences with advanced security and reliability.'
  • The close offers two next steps, 'Chat with sales' and 'Work with a partner', matching how CMS projects are often implemented with an agency or integrator

What does Contentful's pricing page reveal about its pricing strategy?

  • Allowances on users, roles, locales, API calls and CDN bandwidth size each plan, a bundle that tracks team size, markets and traffic together
  • The Space is the expansion unit: one Starter Space on Free and Lite, an extra Lite Space for purchase, and unlimited Spaces on Enterprise
  • Enterprise opens the API meter to unlimited, so the commercial levers at the top become users, Spaces, SLA and modules
  • Personalization, AI Actions and Studio attach to Enterprise as modules, a land-and-expand path from content management into experience products
  • FAQ questions on Enterprise pricing, add-on pricing and usage beyond included limits name the levers the sales conversation covers
