A field guide to pricing pages.

The Pricing Atlas is a reference library of the pages where leading SaaS companies turn products into revenue. Every page is captured full-length at desktop width, so you see the whole argument a company makes, from the hero to the FAQ, exactly as a buyer would.

Each capture carries a read of the page by our in-house strategist and a set of annotations pinned to the screenshot. Filled notes mark practices worth borrowing. Outlined notes go under the hood: what a choice reveals about how the company prices.

How does Retool pricing work?

The core value metric is the builder, defined on the card as 'A user who created or edited an app or workflow this billing cycle', and a second, lower seat covers internal users, 'Employees in your organization who use apps for daily work'. External users are priced on a volume curve in the table: '0-50 Free', '51-250 $8/month', '251-500 $6/month' and 'Over 500 $4/month', with bulk and per-use-case pricing beyond. Three usage meters sit on top: workflow runs at 500 a month on Free and 5,000 on Team and Business, pooled AI credits at 250, 1,000, 3,000 and 10,000 a month, and agent hours with 'Up to 20/month' free on every plan and hourly rates that vary by model. Separating the people who build from the people who use what was built is the heart of the model, because it lets an app spread across a company at a lower rate per viewer.

What does Retool's pricing page do well?

  • The card prices two seat types as a sum, $10 a month per builder plus $5 a month per internal user, so the shape of the bill is visible before the feature list
  • Every card runs the same 'Included' and 'Not included' rows in the same order, so gates read straight across the plans
  • The table publishes the full external user volume curve, from '0-50 Free' to 'Over 500 $4/month'
  • Workflow overage is a printed rate, 'Additional runs are available at $75 per 5,000 runs per month', on the workflow runs row
  • The FAQ splits into three labeled groups for the platform, AI credits and agents, matching the three parts of the model

What does Retool's pricing page reveal about its pricing strategy?

  • Two seat types priced by role: builders who create and internal users who consume, with a third external tier on a volume curve
  • Each plan funds a shared AI credit pool, from 250 to 10,000 credits a month, that renews monthly and grows through packs
  • Agents run on their own hourly meter, with rates set by model capability and no draw on the credit pool
  • Enterprise can bring its own API key, which keeps model spend on the customer's provider account
  • A pricing markdown link for AI agents treats software agents as a real audience for the price list
